Kiawah Island and Charleston, SC - Vacation Recap

Tuesday, October 4, 2016

This is the second consecutive year in a row that we've visited Kiawah Island and Charleston, SC for vacation. It's definitely one of my favorite spots to visit in the United States, plus it's such an easy flight for us from Boston and I'm already familiar with the area since I used to vacation there as a kid. We rented a VRBO on Kiawah but rented a car and spent a lot of time in Charleston as well. There is so much to see and do and it's really the best of both worlds!

Started the trip off right with a visit to Holy City Brewery in North Charleston - great spot for flights and snacks!

Checked into our condo and had this awesome view from our porch.

We also walked around our area of Kiawah -- never a bad view!

Then we made our way to the beach - only a short walk from our condo!

The next day we hit up Palmetto Brewery - another great spot with outdoor games and great food and beer.

That night we had dinner at a great southern restaurant, Poogan's Porch, right in the heart of Charleston.

We checked out the Ryder Cup Bar at the Ocean Course at the very end of Kiawah Island -- probably one of my favorite spots from this whole trip!

We also went to a few more amazing restaurants and sights around Charleston:

Jeni's Homemade Ice Cream - so amazing and worth the hype!

Same with Callie's Hot Little Biscuit - all it's cracked up to be!

Pineapple Fountain

Rainbow Row

Hominy Grill

All in all it was a great trip and totally felt like the vacation we needed!
