Everyone wants to have that tan glow during the spring and summer — but it isn’t always easy to achieve, especially if you are sitting in an office every day. There are some great makeup products out there, from tarte and other brands, that can help you recreate that ‘glowing from within’ look. For the summer, I usually swap in a few shimmery, bright colored products and swap out some of the standard, heavier products that I use for the rest of the year. For example, I prefer using a tinted moisturizer or BB cream in the summer versus a regular foundation at other times during the year. Or I’ll swap in a highlighter or finishing powder in place of a regular blush.
Bronzer/blush: I love products that give you both a
bronzer and a blush at the same time. This tarte
colored clay bronzer blush has a great range of pinks, tans and browns, and
is color correcting.
Highlighter/finishing powder: A brightening, shimmery
finishing powder is another great way to get that summer glow without adding
too much bulk to your face makeup. The tarte
smooth operator amazonian clay finishing powder can be worn with your
foundation or by itself for a lighter makeup day. Or try this Hourglass ambient lighting powder to dust over your finished look for some extra shimmer.
Concealer: Concealer is always a must for me, at least
under my eyes if I don't have any blemishes. This Bare Minerals eye brightener looks like the perfect solution to concealing dark circles and lighting up the
under eye area.
Eye shadow: I love summer eye shadow colors because you
can really reach outside your comfort zone for bolder colors. I’d
love to try shades in this tarte
golden days sultry nights amazonian clay palette or for a faster eye look,
these Bobbi Brown shadow sticks.
For lighter makeup days, try this neutral Nars shade or this Bobbi Brown creme shadow.
Lip gloss/balm: The new trend of the color changing lip
glosses is pretty cool and would definitely brighten up a look for the summer.
Ditch the bright red or pink lips and go with something a little more natural
like the tarte
lipsurgence skintuitive lip gloss, which changes colors based on your lips’
color and temperature. For lighter makeup days, try a tinted balm that
will provide some color and keep lips hydrated like this Bare Minerals jack of all trades lip balm.
Mascara: I always use mascara no matter what and in the
summer you can basically use any kind. This tarte
gifted amazonian clay smart mascara hydrates lashes and makes them
stronger, so you can withstand those hot summer days.
