Jewelry to Wear to Work

Tuesday, September 30, 2014

When dressing for work, I always reach for classic pieces that can add a little sparkle to my outfit. Things like pearls, gold chains and statement watches can be all you need to look polished and ready for the day. Above are a few of my old and new favorite pieces to wear to work.

Comfortable Work Pants

Monday, September 29, 2014

It's always a struggle to find comfortable, yet appropriate work wear. The first thing I look for is versatile work pants which I can wear with a variety of tops through all seasons. Recently I've noticed a bunch of stores with new comfort focused work pants. I've been loving ones that deviate from traditional boxy work pants and instead have stretchy fabrics and tailored lines. Above are some of my recent favorites.

I recently got the Lilly Pulitzer travel pants and they are a great combination of a legging and tailored pant. They are super comfortable and work with nearly any top or shoe.

What are your favorite types of work pants?

A bunch of this week's favorites are from my first ever Ipsy Glam Box -- which so far, I'm liking more than Birchbox. I also hit up the huge Nordstrom in Chicago on Michigan Ave and got this Smashbox lip gloss and these Kendra Scott earrings. The lip gloss is kind of a dupe of the Nars Turkish Delight but the color is more of a solid pink and I like the consistency a lot more. Lastly, I've been loving my Lilly iPhone case with card holder. It makes it super easy to bring two cards when you're using a clutch or small purse.

Fall Shoe Guide

Monday, September 22, 2014

It's always tough making that transition from wearing sandals to wearing closed toe shoes for the fall. Everything you wear requires a different type of shoe: jeans with boots, dresses with booties or wedges or leggings with flats. Dressv.com is a site that has a wide selection of gorgeous cheap women's boots at Dressv for the fall. I'm always looking for good deals on shoes, not too expensive, but good enough that they will last me a few seasons. Check out my wish list from Dressv and other sites above!

Fall Accessories Under $100

Tuesday, September 16, 2014

Sharing some fun fall accessories today -- and they are all under $100! I'm all about affordable, especially when it comes to accessories that are seasonal. There are lots of great items, like statement necklaces, scarves and bags, available in darker colors and thicker fabrics -- perfect for the chillier weather.

Weekly Wish List

Friday, September 12, 2014

1. BB Dakota Fur Vest - This vest caught my eye right away. I love the draping and the price is unreal.

2. Kendra Scott Ellie earrings - I've got the Elle earrings and now I want a pair of the Ellie studs. These neutral sparkly ones are gorgeous.

3. Essie in Velvet Voyeur - I love this fall color, along with the rest of the burgundy family.

4. JCrew button down - I like how this material is thicker than regular silk. Also, it's long so I could wear it with leggings.

Happy Friday!

How to Wear Riding Boots

Ways to Wear Riding Boots

I love when it's time to start wearing boots in the fall. I've tried all kinds of boots over the years but riding boots are by far my favorite. They are sturdy, yet comfortable and look good with so many things. Here are some ways to wear them:

1. With a sweater dress - just put on a pair of cute colored tights and a long or short sleeve sweater dress and you're good to go!

2. With an oversized sweater - pair it with skinny jeans or leggings and it will be a cute and comfortable outfit for chilly weather. (A sweatshirt would work too!)

3. With a flannel - this is the stereotypical fall outfit, but it always works, no matter the occasion!

4. With a flouncy skirt - grab a silk blouse or long sleeve tee and tuck it into the skirt and the boots will tie it all together.

Can't wait to start wearing all of these very soon. Loving burgundy and hunter green for jeans, flats and tops. Also relying on lots of staples like basic skinny jeans and black and gray tees for layering.

5 Things I'm Looking Forward to This Fall

Monday, September 8, 2014

1. Football - In my mind, football is the best sport and really the only sport I get excited about watching. I live in my Tom Brady jersey every Sunday and follow all NFL news during each week of the season. I'm also a converted Oklahoma Sooners fan and have so much fun watching the games at our bar, McGreevys. Side note: football game day snacks are my favorite!

2. Sweatshirt & sweater & boot weather - After living with only one AC unit all summer, I'm so ready for the temps to cool down so I can wear sweaters (thinking about buying this one!) & sweatshirts. I also can't wait to wear my Tory Burch boots again. As much as I like sandals, boots always make me feel like my look is much more pulled together.

3. Pumpkin and apple everything - Pumpkin coffee and donuts are now at Dunkin! I love how many stores end up carrying pumpkin items and each year I end up trying something new. Being from New England, I also go apple picking every year. It's a tradition here to go apple picking and then make an apple recipe like apple crisp or apple pie.

4. Fall foliage - The changing colors of the leaves is beautiful! There's no better place to see the foliage than New England!

5. Crockpot meals - As the weather cools down, it's time to turn the crockpot on. Chili, soups and meals like pulled pork are my favorites.

What are you most looking forward to this fall?

With all the travel I've been doing, I ended up randomly trying out some new products. I also got a few things I had my eye on for a while (hint: Kendra Scott!). Hope you enjoy the list!

Cake Batter ChapStick - I found this at the Super Target in Dallas and it smells amazing! Definitely going to stock up on it before it's sold out for good.

Kendra Scott Skylie Pendant and Elle Earrings - Obsessed with my new pieces from Kendra Scott. I love the delicate choker necklace and the hot pink earrings definitely make a statement.

Not Your Mothers Beach Babe Texturizing Sea Salt Spray - I've been loving this spray for scrunching my hair or putting in a little bit when I get out of the pool. It smells like the beach and doesn't feel too heavy.

JCrew Side Slit Tunic - I just got this shirt from JCrew and it's the most comfortable thing ever. It goes great with skinny jeans or leggings. I got the army green color.

OGX Coconut Milk Shampoo - I bought this randomly in the travel size and it's a really good product. It leaves my hair smooth and smells great.

Labor Day Weekend Recap: Trip to Dallas

Tuesday, September 2, 2014

Just got home from an awesome trip to Dallas! It was great spending time in my bf's hometown and around the city of Dallas. We were there for a wedding which was so much fun. We also made sure to do a food tour of the area, including fried chicken at Babe's, Mexican food at Mi Cocina, fast food at Whataburger and sausage rolls and donuts at the local donut shop. I also got to meet my awesome blog friend, Alexis from Stylish Gameday and checked out the Kendra Scott store to pick up some goodies. All in all it was a pretty great trip!
