Nordstrom Sale Items: Shoes & Bags

It's that weird in between time toward the end of winter and beginning of spring. Sometimes those weird times are the best times to buy items you've had your eyes on. Nordstrom has some great stuff on sale even though they aren't really publicizing it. A lot of last season's colors are marked down along with some of the early spring releases. However, I don't really count brown or pink as seasonal or trendy colors; they can really work anytime. Also, I'm in the market for some new sandals, either gladiators or wedges, and Nordstrom has some great ones that are already discounted.

Happy shopping!

Blazer (Moxie, similar), Necklace (Madewell, similar), Jeggings (Target)

I've been out of commission the past few days because I got my wisdom teeth out. Now, I'm finally getting around to sharing a few OOTD's from earlier in the week. The weather is just barely starting to break into spring so I've still been wearing lots of jeggings, boots and lightweight jackets. Hopefully soon I'll be able to wear flats, cropped pants and t-shirts!

Happy Monday!

Weekly Wish List: White Lace Tops

Weekly Wish List: White Lace Tops

White lace tops are a classic. I just picked up a peplum lace top from Banana Republic, but unfortunately it's sold out in white. Ever since I got it, I've been wanting white lace tops in other styles. White and lace can go with anything: jeans, colored jeans, skirts, or with a jean jacket. It's such an easy breezy style so investing in a few different types is a great idea.

Stylish Stud Earrings

Stylish Stud Earrings

As much as statement earrings are in style, I find it much easier to wear a stylish stud when I have to go to work everyday. I gravitate towards a colorful or sparkly stud and I think it's the perfect understated look for work, yet it adds a bit of style. The selection for unique studs is so wide now and for the last few years I have to say that Kate Spade earrings are my favorite each season.

Tory Burch sale picks

The Tory Burch 70% off sale has some great stuff this time around. If you haven't invested in Reva flats, sandals or a clutch, now's the time! The sale mostly features winter colors but a lot of them can easily be translated into spring or used as neutrals.

The sale only goes until Monday so hurry before the good stuff is sold out!

Spring Wedding Ensembles

Spring Wedding Ensembles

I have a few spring and summer weddings coming up and I've been thinking of ways to mix and match accessories and dresses so I don't have to buy all new stuff. I love the idea of statement earrings or a statement bracelet and a summery wicker clutch. Each one can pair with any spring colored dress and can be used for multiple events like a bridal shower or bachelorette party.

What's your favorite look?

Packing List: Travel Cosmetics

Thursday, March 13, 2014

1. Essie Muchi Muchi nail polish: this is a great nude shade, which looks polished and professional. I try to use a color like this if I know I'm going on a business trip. Plus, chips aren't as visible.

2. Benefit Watt's Up: I put this under my eyes to brighten them. It's great for when you have to wake up at 5 AM for an event. (The sample size is only $8 -- and when you use so little, it lasts a long time.)

3. Bare Minerals Flawless Definition mascara: I love this travel size mascara and it really does define the lashes so well. Plus it washes off with soap and water, which is great if you don't bring makeup remover wipes!

4. Benefit Girl Meets Pearl: I dab this on my cheeks on top of my makeup to help it stay and to give me some shimmer. It's nice to use in the winter to add something extra to a pale face like mine!

5. Mac Bronzing Powder (in golden): I put this on several times a day when I'm traveling. It seems like makeup rubs off so easily when you are going in cabs and walking through the airport, etc.

What products do you bring when you travel?

Weekly Wish List

I just got back from NYC and now I'm in Atlanta for another work trip this week. My travel schedule has been crazy! Lately I've been relying on comfortable shoes and comfortable clothes and scarves to get me through long travel days.

I love the pattern and colors of these new Tory flats -- I already featured the brown ones in another post! This scarf on Shopbop looks really adorable and cozy and good for travel. These Kate Spade earrings are part of a great collection of blue and green jewelry this season. Also, this jewelry tray was too cute not to mention -- and great price too!

Lilly Pulitzer and Estee Lauder - Cosmetic Free Gift

Tuesday, March 11, 2014

I'm a huge fan of Estee Lauder sumptuous extreme mascara. I discovered it a few years ago and it's one of the few mascaras that I'll splurge a bit on (I mentioned it in my daily makeup routine post). So when I saw that Estee Lauder was teaming up with Lilly Pulitzer (one of my other favorite brands) for a free gift I was very excited.

If you spend $35 (which is basically the mascara plus one other small product -- I also recommend Juicy Tubes lip gloss!) at Macy's or Macys.com, you get a bunch of mini Estee Lauder products plus a really cute Lilly Pulitzer cosmetic bag.

The free gift only lasts until March 23 so I wanted to share this before time runs out!

Macy's also has an online Estee Lauder Foundation Finder and Skincare Finder -- in case you want to buy products online. Each one helps to match you with the right shade and right skin type so you can buy the right thing without actually going to the makeup counter.

Do you use Estee Lauder products? If so, what is your favorite? What would you buy to get this free gift?

A few weeks ago I finally got a full length mirror so now I can take selfies of my outfits. I love documenting my outfits so I can go back to combinations of tops/pants/jewelry that work for different occasions. Plus, I just got a few new tops and necklaces so I wanted to post those on the blog.
Happy Monday!

Weekly Wish List

My mind has officially switched over to spring clothes even though I know we are still weeks away from warm weather. I love this throwback style Free People denim jacket and the whole collection of spring scarves from JCrew. Pastels are definitely going to be in again and this JCrew Factory bracelet is a perfect accessory. I also am still obsessed with brights and this Banana Republic top comes in a lot of great colors, including this neon pink.

Oscars Red Carpet Trends

Monday, March 3, 2014

Amazing collection of gowns at this year's Oscars. Nudes and neutrals were another trend along with a somewhat surprising spread of black dresses. There were few jewel tones and funky designs on the red carpet and I give Jennifer Lawrence credit for wearing a beautiful red orange dress and standing out. I liked it much better than her Oscar gown last year!
Here are some of my favorite looks:

Neutrals:
Naomi Watts, Kristen Bell, Lupita Nyongo, Jessica Biel, Cate Blanchett

Dark shades:
Olivia Wilde, Charlize Theron, Sandra Bullock, Chrissy Teigen, Kerry Washington

Bold colors:
Jennifer Lawrence

Who were your favorites on the red carpet?
