Easy Breakfast Recipe: Overnight Oats

Monday, February 24, 2014

I don't like to cook and I'm not really that good at it (yet). But I do love making super easy recipes like muffins, cookies and salads. I had seen overnight oats on Pinterest in every form imaginable so I was excited when my sister (p.s. check out her food blog!) shared a great recipe with me. It couldn't be easier to make and faster to take in the morning -- and you can eat it hot or cold with any combination of toppings that you want.

Here is the recipe I've been using:

1/2 Cup of Oats
3/4 to 1 Cup of Almond Milk (or soy milk)
1 Tablespoon of Chia & Flax Seeds Blend (optional, adds fiber, omega 3s, and protein)
1/2 Cup Blueberries (or other fruit of your choice -- I use golden raisins)
1 Packet of Truvia (or other zero calorie sweetener if you like they sweeter)
3 Shakes of Cinnamon
1. Measure the oats and pour them into your tupperware container.
2. Next, measure the almond milk and pour it directly on top of your oats.
3. Add your chia & flax seeds, if you want.
4. Now add your fruit.
5. At this point you can add any additional flavorings you like.
I like to add truvia and cinnamon to sweeten it up a bit.

Stir everything together in your tupperware, pop the lid on, and place it in the refrigerator to sit all night and enjoy in the morning!
You can heat the oats up in the microwave if you want, or eat them cold.

  1. So delicious and easy. Will be trying this for breakfast soon!
